I felt is was only necessary to give a reflection in regards to the ten year anniversary of 9/11. I don't feel that it is in my authority or intelligence to refer to it as a terrorist attack, but I am very passionate and considerate to all of those who were effected internally and externally by this incident. I still remember to this day, how drastic the mood change was in my 9th grade biology class as the school TV station informed us of the horrible acts that had just taken place. So ironic, it was a beautiful day in Mobile, AL.
I believe that I was a bit unaware how serious the deficit was, because my emotions towards the act were not sympathetic until well after when it all hit me. As I began to see others breaking down in fear of what could happen, I too began to wonder as to what was really going on in our nation. Students and teachers a like moved to tears and screams as more news came in about the results of the damage. I immediately began thinking about the aftermath of death. My mind was filled with assumptions of what people would do to retaliate. I mean think about it, that's the world that we live in. If you do something to me, yep...I damn sure gotta do it to you. Why we are like that, who knows...but for some people it is what it is.
I had always been one to admire politics. Since a very young age I have had articles and clipping of John F. Kennedy hanging in my room. As I got older I added Bill Clinton and in middle school I did an entire research project on the 2000 Presidential Campaign. Of course I was pulling for Al Gore, but Florida, in my opinion had too much influence. It was at that point, that I realized our world, our nation was really not in the hands of the people.
For the past week I have been watching Presidential debates, simply because I plan to run one day soon...Anyways, it is so baffling to me as I have watched several men state proposals that most of them do not adhere to. We are programmed to believe that someone in that opportune position would only present to us ideas that would be carried out for the betterment of the nation right? Exactly...but who is the nation? Who are these plans and ideas being carried out for and why? Theses are questions that my people refuse to ask. That's why our society is in the state that it is.
Do we really won't world communication and operation? We may, but the people that lead us...some of them do not. Go back and research events that have happened in our nation in previous years on the same date. Then analyze what is really going on around you. We are in the midst of some serious stuff my people. If we do not begin understanding and speaking about our situations, we will truly fall into a state of submission that will not be able to retaliate.
Reflect upon the lives that were lost, pay respects to the minds that were shattered due to this encounter.But pay also mind to how ironic it is that someone would campaign to say no to federal influence and listen to the people but react totally different in the heat of a moment. Not knowing that it would lead our people to this condition of living is not an excuse for the state our national community is. Shamefully our demeanor has fostered the progression of wrong doings for the international community as well. We must acknowledge this and make efforts to make right where we were wrong. President Obama quoted President Kennedy saying "Man made problems...can be fixed by man". We must fix theses problems now...

AAMU BULLDOGS (0-1), after giving away a victory to Hampton University travels to Baton Rouge to take on Southern University also (0-1) after being tromped by Tennessee State last week. This will be both teams first SWAC game...
Bama State (1-0) After an overwhelming Conference victory over MVSU, Bama State takes the same victorious hopes to Easter Michigan also (1-0)...
AUBURN (1-0) The defending National Champions, UN-ranked, look to gain their first SEC win of the year against also undefeated, #16 MSU (1-0)...
U of A (1-0) After and easy win over Kent State, Alabama faces a more challenging opponent in Big 10 powerhouse Penn State (1-0). This should be an interesting game with all the coaching history involved.
